Acid wash is a process used to remove stains and discoloration from the surface of a swimming pool. Over time, a variety of factors can cause unsightly stains to develop on a pool’s walls and floor. These stains are from algae growth, mineral buildup, and chemical imbalances in the water. Acid washing involves draining the pool, applying a mixture of water and muriatic acid to the surface. First we allow the solution to sit on the stained surface. After it has had time to sit we then scrub away the stains with a specialized brush which removes the stains and restores the pool’s original appearance.
Acid washing is a labor-intensive and potentially dangerous process, so it should only be performed by a professional pool maintenance technician with the necessary equipment and expertise. We have all the training and certifications to safely provide this service. Give us a call to receive your free estimate!
